Collaboration and Partnerships for Healthy Communities
Thursday, June 3rd, 2010
10am to 12noon
Facilitated by Lorna McCue, OHCC Healthy Communities Support Services
This webinar will complement the Collaboration and Partnerships for Healthy Communities on-line course, developed by Joan Roberts for the Ontario Healthy Communities Coalition. Participants will be expected to have worked through the course materials prior to attending the webinar.
The purpose of the webinar is to support participants’ learning about how to develop and nurture effective collaborations and partnerships to solve complex community problems and create healthier communities. Webinar participants will have the opportunity to discuss the application of the course content to their particular situation and ask for suggestions about the collaborative initiatives in which they are involved.
Through the combination of the online course and the webinar, participants will have:
- An understanding of the 6 step framework* for building programs and social change campaigns delivered through collaborative structures;
- Access to practical tools and frameworks that help move multi-organizational processes closer to success; and
- Increased knowledge of the processes involved in building relationships across organizational boundaries.
*The Six Step Development Framework has been adapted from Joan Roberts, Alliances Coalitions and Partnerships: Building Collaborative Organizations, New Society Publishers, 2004.
