On May 26th 2008, hundreds of people gathered at the C.A.W for The 12th annual Seniors Day, an event co-sponsored by St. Catharine’s Healthy Cities and the C.A.W. Retirees Local 199.

OHPRS Francophone Tour 2007 - Thorold

On March 27th, in Thorold, Ontario, representatives from over 60 Francophone organizations across Ontario gathered to attend the OHPRS Francophone Capacity Tour, part of a two day Forum entitled “Parternaires dans L’action: Santé en français”, hosted by Réseau Franco-santé du Sud de l’Ontario, le Regroupement des intervenants francophones en santé et en services sociaux de l’Ontario (RIFSSSO) and the Ontario Health Promotion Resource System (OHPRS).

The Colour of Poverty

The Colour of Poverty Campaign is gaining momentum across the province and is expected to soon become a national campaign. Initiated by the Colour of Justice Network and funded by the Department of Canadian Heritage, the Colour of Poverty Campaign was launched in September 2007 to help raise public awareness about the extent of poverty within the racialized communities of Ontario.

"Our Ramara" … Connecting Our Community

Ramara is a small rural township, just east of the City of Orillia. It is not well known and even in Orillia it is often referred to as "that community over the bridge" where the road crosses between two lakes to join Ramara and the City of Orillia. In the past, an obvious need had been identified for an all-inclusive complete information source about Ramara. There was no place in Ramara where people could obtain comprehensive information (e.g., no local newspaper).
