A vital conversation on Equity, Inclusion, Social Justice and the possibilities for change
On Friday June 6, 2008 over 80 educators, parents, community workers, students and community activists gathered at Harbourfront Community Centre to share ideas and discuss concerns around issues of diversity and inclusion in schools. "Our Schools, Our Communities" is part of an ongoing series of learning exchanges offered by the Ontario Inclusion Learning Network (OILN).

Water is the basis of life - without it, nothing grows! We exist because of the availability of water, and here in Ontario we enjoy an abundance of it. Nearly 17% of our province is covered with fresh water lakes and rivers. However even with our vast quantities, water pollution is a big issue for some communities and could lead to even more serious problems for future generations

Amanda Misnakoshkang knows racial discrimination is still alive among Thunder Bay youth, because she sees it in her high school. "Our school is completely split in half," said the Grade 12 student at St. Patrick High School.
"It's native kids on this side, white kids on that side, and no one crosses the line or else."
