What is "ecoCommunities"?
ecoCommunities is a joint project of the Ontario Healthy Communities Coalition and ecoPerth, funded by the Ontario Trillium Foundation and Environment Canada. Between 8 and 12 Ontario communities were selected to participate in the ecoCommunities project, between April 2004 and November 2005.
The project was developed based on the following premises:
Pathways to a Healthy Community - An Indicators and Evaluation Tool Kit User Guide
The Indicators & Evaluation Tool Kit is a practical resource for OHCC’s Community Animators, members, and community groups to assist them choose an appropriate tool for their evaluation and/or indicators initiative. OHCC has collected what we consider to be 19 of the best evaluation and indicator tools in North America. To accompany the tools we developed a User’s Guide that provides comprehensive details to help groups select the tool most appropriate to their needs.
Healthy Environment, Healthy Community Tool Kit
This tool kit contains practical ideas and suggestions for making your community a healthier place to live, work, and play. It also provides inspiration. The health of our environment affects everyone. In return, everything we do effects the health of our environment. The kit contains the success stories of everyday people, like yourself, who have chosen to make a difference in their own communities, particularly in the area of health and the environment.
